Some Surfing Tips and Tricks

1) Hot water rinse off - especially nice for cold weather.  Fill up
bottles of water or a cooler with hot water, then when you get out of
the water you have hot, fresh water to rinse off with. If you pour
some down your wetsuit on a cold day it feels really good!  You can
also use one of those black camping shower bags - they work well too.

2) Seaweed anchor. When you are out in the water you can hold on to a piece of seaweed
to keep the current from dragging you while you are waiting for a
wave.

3) Hair protections/treatment. If you wet your hair and put conditioner in it before you surf,
your hair will get less damaged and you will actually be giving it a
conditioning treatment while you are surfing.

4) Wetsuit Dunk Tank. An old ice chest makes a nice fresh water dunk tank for wetsuits.

5) Getting in your wetsuit trick! If you put a plastic bag around your hand or leg before putting it in the wetsuit, it makes you slide through easier ( I couldn't think
of a good way to word this one, so if you can word it better, please
help me out here :) )

6) Save your head. If you have to carry a hardboard on your head, wrap up a little
shirt or towel and put in between your board and your head and it will
feel a lot better.

7) Sunscreen on the Scalp. Put sunscreen where you part your hair so your scalp won't get
burned ( I always forget to do that, and it hurts!)
